About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Estimator to join our Engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing and coordinating complete estimates for our projects, while providing specialized technical and administrative support to our project management team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed mechanical estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work and applying labor unit rates.
  • Review and evaluate cost estimates to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Manage and coordinate the material cost and equipment rentals, ensuring that all aspects are factored into the final estimates.
  • Participate in the proposal preparation and client presentation process.
  • Coordinate with engineers, architects, clients, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
  • Utilize construction management skills to assess and report project progress, risks, and issues.
  • Develop strategies to meet project goals, such as setting work hours, sequencing tasks, obtaining necessary resources, etc.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with clients, contractors, and team members.
  • Attend site visits and pre-bid meetings for the purpose of understanding the project scope and requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in mechanical estimating or a similar role in the Engineering industry.
  • Proficient in construction estimating software and other industry-related software programs.
  • Demonstrated understanding of mechanical systems and knowledge of current construction costs and trends.
  • Strong understanding of construction management processes, means, and methods.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Must be a proactive self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification is a plus.
  • Large Scale Commercial experience is a MUST.
