About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Retail Sales Manager (East) to spearhead our retail sales initiatives across the East Coast. This role demands a seasoned professional with a proven track record in national retail sales, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for promoting sustainable and innovative food products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Retail Sales Execution:
    • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing retail accounts across various categories within grocery stores, including deli/prepared foods and plant-based sections.
    • Experience with regional rollouts and pitching to regional teams is essential.
    • Demonstrate a history of successfully growing account values over time.
    • Develop compelling presentations and materials to secure new accounts and support existing relationships.
    • Collaborate with distributors to onboard, manage, and expand retail partnerships.
  • Retail Account Management:
    • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with national retail partners, overseeing key accounts and ensuring alignment with Prime Roots' brand values.
    • Negotiate and manage contracts, terms, and promotions to drive sales and enhance brand visibility.
    • Oversee the planning and execution of in-store marketing and merchandising programs in collaboration with the marketing team to ensure account success.
  • Sales Strategy and Planning:
    • Develop and implement comprehensive retail sales strategies, including promotional campaigns, pricing strategies, and product launches.
    • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of sales plans.
  • Reporting and Analysis:
    • Generate regular reports on retail sales performance, analyzing key metrics and providing insights for continuous improvement.
    • Utilize data to make informed decisions and adjustments to optimize sales strategies.
    • Provide comprehensive reporting and analysis to leadership, outlining plans to achieve and exceed goals.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record in national retail sales management within the food and beverage industry.
  • Experience working with grocery retailers across various categories, including deli/prepared foods and plant-based products.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and analytical skills.
  • Passion for sustainable food practices and a commitment to promoting healthy eating habits.
