Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist

Atrium Health Radiology offers a unique opportunity for a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist to join our team in the University City area. As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for performing procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards, operating MRI scanners and associated equipment with a high level of proficiency.
Our ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in radiologic technology, nuclear medicine technology, or a related field, with ARRT certification in Radiologic Technology, Nuclear Medicine, or MRI required within one year of hire. You will also possess excellent communication skills, able to effectively interact with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
Job Summary
The MRI Technologist I performs procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards, including:
- Examining requests and verifying orders on each assigned patient, referring and questioning orders to the Radiologist before performing exam
- Properly identifying patients and assisting them while offering a brief explanation of the procedures
- Interviewing patients for a complete medical history, reviewing in-patients, ER, and outpatients EMR's to obtain pertinent clinical history
- Evaluating technical quality of images and consulting with a Radiologist if needed
Responsibilities
As an MRI Technologist at Atrium Health Radiology, your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and administering IV contrast according to departmental protocols
- Performing basic patient care functions, informing appropriate nursing personnel of any changes in the patient's condition
- Initiating life support measures for patients when necessary
- Assisting in 'code blue' procedures during medical emergencies
Physical Requirements
This role requires moderate to heavy physical efforts in lifting and moving patients, equipment, and supplies, occasional standing, walking, and sitting during normal operation. You may be required to stretch, bend, twist, squat, or kneel in the daily operation of the MRI department.
Salary Information
We offer a competitive salary of $65,000 per year, based on industry standards and location. This amount is subject to change based on performance and qualifications.
