Job Summary

The MRI Technologist position at Atrium Health Charlotte involves performing magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards. The successful candidate will operate MRI scanners and associated equipment with a high level of proficiency, ensuring accurate and efficient image capture.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Examine requests and verify orders on each assigned patient, referring any discrepancies to the Radiologist as needed.
  2. Properly identify and assist patients during procedures, providing clear explanations and documenting relevant information.
  3. Interview patients for medical history and review pertinent clinical data, correlating test results and laboratory findings as necessary.
  4. Assume responsibility for exams from start to completion, preparing and administering IV contrast according to departmental protocols.
  5. Evaluate technical quality of images and consult with Radiologists when necessary, recognizing abnormal anatomy and processing additional images or measurements as required.
Physical Requirements

This role requires moderate to heavy physical efforts in lifting and moving patients, equipment, and supplies, with occasional standing, walking, and sitting during normal operation. The ability to stretch, bend, twist, squat, or kneel may be required daily.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited two-year AMA-approved program in Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology or active enrollment in an ARMRIT or ARRT registry-eligible program.
  • ARRT certification in Radiologic Technology, ARRT, or NMTCB certification in Nuclear Medicine with advanced registry from the ARMRIT or ARRT in MRI within one year of hire.
  • CPR certification required.

Salary and Location

We offer a competitive salary for this role, estimated to be around $ 85,000 per year, depending on experience. This position is located in Charlotte, North Carolina, providing access to a diverse range of cultural and entertainment opportunities.
