Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate as a vital member of assigned construction teams.
- Ensure the professional quality and technical precision of all designs, drawings, specifications, and services provided by contractors.
- Act as a representative at construction sites, overseeing contractor quality control to guarantee high standards of workmanship.
- Assist Construction Managers in the coordination and execution of projects.
- Participate actively in all construction and quality control meetings.
- Monitor safety practices on-site and report any violations immediately.
- Communicate promptly with relevant authorities regarding hazardous conditions or safety issues.
- Document all accidents and incidents as per protocol.
- Review and analyze construction plans and specifications.
- Alert management to any potential disputes or issues that may arise during construction.
- Conduct inspections and perform quality assurance checks on construction contracts.
- Prepare daily inspection reports detailing site visits and quality assurance activities.
- Provide feedback on contractor performance at project completion.
- Generate reports assessing contractor adherence to schedules, quality standards, and overall effectiveness.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED is mandatory.
- A minimum of 5 years of specialized experience in mechanical and plumbing schematic design and development.
- Proven design and technical skills in creating comprehensive Statements of Work, including drawings and specifications.
- Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience as a Mechanical Engineering Technician.
- Ability to pass a background check and obtain necessary security clearances.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- In-depth understanding of construction contract requirements and ability to recommend necessary changes.
- Familiarity with Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build project delivery methods.
- Competence in estimating design and construction efforts and assisting in negotiations with contractors.
- Ability to review contractor submissions and respond to requests for information.
- Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical systems and construction practices.
- Capability to work independently and adapt knowledge to complete tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in using AUTOCAD and other relevant design software.
- Experience with construction site evaluations and the ability to generate field progress reports.
- Strong communication skills for effective oral and written presentations.
Physical Demands: The role requires regular sitting, walking, and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision.
Work Environment: Primarily office-based with occasional exposure to construction sites and varying weather conditions.
