Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cook to join our team at Frontier Management (OR). As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals to our residents.

Responsibilities:

  • Food Preparation: Prepare all food according to standardized recipes and menus, ensuring proper preparation, portioning, and serving of foods.
  • Sanitation and Safety: Adhere to all safety and sanitation standards, including proper cleaning procedures and storage of all dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment.
  • Food Handling: Ensure all food in refrigerator, freezer, and dry storage are labeled and dated, and oversee proper food handling and utilization of all foods to prevent contamination, increase quality, and reduce cost.
  • Menu Planning: Suggest menu or recipe changes to utilize leftovers and other supplies, and work with the food services director to plan and implement new menu items.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean all food service equipment, kitchen, and food storage areas, and ensure that all areas are maintained in a clean and safe manner.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Proven experience as a Cook, with knowledge of sanitation and safety guidelines.
  • Skills: Skilled in preparing meals according to instructions, and able to operate cookware, bakeware, and cooking appliances.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; certification in food services is a plus.
  • Personal Qualities: Friendly with good communication skills, and good physical condition and stamina.
