Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Registration Specialist II to join our team at Skagit Regional Health. As a key member of our patient access team, you will be responsible for facilitating patient registration activities and ensuring a seamless experience for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform registration procedures in accordance with established guidelines and policies.
  • Maintain an organized and orderly work area and mobile workstation, ensuring efficient workflow and productivity.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and co-pay information in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Notify appropriate personnel of patient presence in a timely manner, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Coordinate staffing for sick calls or open shifts, following department procedure and ensuring adequate coverage.
  • Prepare and build patient charts, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Communicate effectively and cooperatively with colleagues, patients, and families, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Participate in Quality Improvement and Lean Process Improvement activities, contributing to the achievement of departmental goals and objectives.
  • Complete all mandatory learning requirements in a timely manner, ensuring ongoing professional development and growth.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum one year experience in patient registration or healthcare front office setting preferred.
  • Patient Registration or Patient Access certification may be substituted for experience.

Work Environment

This position requires working in an indoor, environmentally controlled environment when in the office. The physical demands of this role include sitting for long periods, repetitive tasks, and lifting objects weighing over 20 pounds.
