Airport Maintenance Director

The Rhode Island Airport Corporation is seeking a skilled Airport Maintenance Director to oversee the maintenance and repair activities at our six airports. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper upkeep, safety compliance, and efficient operations of our airfields.

This role involves managing a team of maintenance personnel, coordinating with contractors, and adhering to strict regulatory standards. You will also oversee the automotive repair facility and associated staff.

The ideal candidate will have a thorough working knowledge and experience in 49 CFR Part 139 airport certification compliance, as well as 49 CFR Parts 1542 and 1544. A strong background in snow removal techniques used in an airport environment is also essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance plans for all airport facilities.
  • Lead and manage a team of maintenance technicians, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing training.
  • Regularly inspect airport infrastructure, identifying potential issues and initiating necessary repairs.
  • Create and manage the maintenance budget, tracking expenditures and procuring materials.
  • Evaluate cost-effective solutions and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in aviation management, engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of airport operations and/or maintenance experience at a commercial airport.
  • Experience in direct management of collective bargaining units strongly preferred.


Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year
