Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Building Utilities Mechanic to join our team at the State of Minnesota. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing various systems and equipment within our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist skilled craft workers in maintaining and repairing domestic water, sanitary and storm sewer systems, fire sprinklers, and HVAC piping systems.
  • Maintain facility operations by assisting other trades areas in the completion of work requests, preventative maintenance, and construction projects.
  • Update fire extinguishers and eye wash stations.
  • Record all work performed in the Archibus System.
Requirements
  • Possess a Journeyman or Master Plumber license, Boiler license, Power Limited Technician License, Journey worker electrician license, or Master electrician license.
  • Knowledge and skills in the methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in trades work sufficient to assist skilled trades staff in the completion of assigned projects.
  • Ability to perform semi-skilled trades work, minor repairs, and adjustments to machinery and equipment.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures.
