This position is responsible for managing computer systems, related hardware, and various operational equipment. The role includes performing support tasks within computer operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Exhibit a professional and courteous demeanor with colleagues and business partners.
  • Maintain awareness of the company's values, regulations, and policies, reflecting these in all interactions with coworkers, clients, and the public to ensure confidentiality.
  • Monitor computer displays and peripheral devices for error messages to identify faulty outputs, machine halts, or alerts; report issues to the supervisor.
  • Load peripheral devices with necessary materials such as tapes and printer forms for operational tasks.
  • Observe equipment to ascertain the conclusion of operational runs and consult schedules for subsequent assignments.
  • Document the completion of tasks accurately.
  • Submit jobs for processing and verify their accuracy.
  • Ensure timely and correct transfer of data files, including ACH, Debit Card, Credit Card, Share Draft, and Bill Payer.
  • Assist in training fellow computer operators on all shift tasks and equipment operations.
  • Distribute computer-generated reports or upload spooled reports to the optical retrieval system.
  • Identify data processing discrepancies and inform the relevant personnel.
  • Record billable items on daily logs.
  • Conduct system backups and manage off-site backup file transfers.
  • Assist clients with inquiries, issues, or concerns.
  • When responding to intercoms, ensure that only authorized personnel gain access to the facility.
  • Safeguard and respect company equipment and supplies, minimizing workplace distractions.
  • Learn to add, modify, delete, and restart jobs in the ISE Job Scheduler module.
  • Verify that reports and outputs are complete and of high quality before release.
  • In addition to notifying the supervisor and senior operator, inform data processing vendors or maintenance staff if errors or failures cannot be resolved.
  • Maintain continuous communication with the supervisor.
  • Ensure the security of the facility, computer equipment, and confidentiality of data.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned and support all areas of the company and its affiliates.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Strong interpersonal skills; a high level of trust and diplomacy is essential, along with standard courtesy and tact.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents and compose routine reports and correspondence.
  • Capacity to work amidst frequent interruptions and under constant pressure.
  • Proficiency in typing, operating a personal computer, and utilizing all functions of a mainframe computer system.
  • Ability to interpret various instructions provided in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule formats.
  • Capability to troubleshoot issues that may arise during the shift.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedural manuals.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Familiarity with PC hardware, desktop and network operating systems, and printers.
  • Ability to solve practical problems using available data and variables.
  • Recognize and resolve computer-related issues.
  • Knowledge of basic algebra and geometry.
