Chief of Surgical Service Physician

The VETERANS HEALTH ADMINISTRATION is seeking a highly skilled Physician to serve as the Chief of Surgical Service. This is a unique opportunity to lead a team of professionals in providing exceptional care to our nation's veterans.
Key Responsibilities
The Chief of Surgical Service will be responsible for the overall operation, oversight, and performance management of all Surgical Service operations at the WJB Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia, South Carolina. This includes planning, developing, and directing administrative and clinic functions of the Surgical Care Service. The chief will be responsible for oversight of surgical procedures and the related pre-operative and post-operative care.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess experience in an academic setting with skills in data analysis and a vision for growth of the department. The Chief will be expected to interact positively with the VA Health Care System's leadership team to lead and promote best evidence-based practices and surgical staff excellence and staff development. The qualified candidate is board-certified with the American Board of Certification in their surgical specialty or sub-specialty.
