Job Title: Right of Way Title Agent

ORC is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Right of Way Title Agent to join our team in Central Virginia. As a Title Agent, you will be responsible for conducting thorough title searches, analyzing complex title reports, and ensuring accuracy of title information.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct title searches and analyze title reports to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Verify property ownership, mortgages, liens, and judgments against properties
  • Determine if restrictions, such as delinquent taxes, will affect titles and limit property use
  • Identify key information about parcels and communicate effectively to property owners
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in title research and analysis
  • Proficient in reading deeds, legal descriptions, plats, easements, and searching parcel data
  • Ability to read and understand real estate terminology
  • Ability to ascertain types of title evidence required to obtain descriptions of properties and names involved
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word, and Dropbox or equivalent
  • Valid Driver's License

Physical Requirements: English language proficient. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to clearly communicate and exchange information in person, via phone and email. Substantial repetitive movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers due to high amounts of computer usage and typing. Expected to spend long spans of time in front of a computer screen. Able to read, understand, and interpret department-related documents and data. This is a largely sedentary role; however, the employee occasionally is required to move about inside the office to access files, office equipment, and to interact with other members of the staff. This employee is required to occasionally travel to government buildings which involves time driving; sometimes for long durations.
