High-Acuity RN Position in Abdominal Surgery and Surgical Oncology

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team on the General Surgery Unit at University Hospital, Wisconsin's #1 hospital. As a valued member of our team, you will provide high-acuity post-operative care for patients who have undergone complex surgeries involving the esophagus, stomach, small bowel, colon, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, and bile ducts.
About the RoleThis 28-bed unit is also home to minimally invasive and emergency surgery, as well as surgical oncology. Nurses on this unit possess advanced skills in complex patient care, including IV placement, NG tube insertion, catheter management, enteral nutrition administration, and wound care. You will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team committed to delivering exceptional patient care, maintaining high standards, and adhering to Primary Nursing and Interdisciplinary Model principles.

To succeed in this role, you should possess:
- At least six months of nursing experience or participation in our Nurse Residency Program
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse in Wisconsin or compact state
- CPR/BLS certification
- PREFERRED: Relevant RN experience and certifications
