Position Overview

The City of Chandler Municipal Court is actively seeking skilled candidates for the role of Court Clerk. This position may require working on various schedules, including weekends and holidays:
  • Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
  • Tuesday - Friday 7:15 am - 5:15 pm and Saturday 7:15 am - 11:15 am
  • Monday - Thursday 7:15 am - 5:15 pm and Sunday 7:15 am - 11:15 am

About the Chandler Municipal Court

The Chandler Municipal Court represents the Judicial Branch of the Chandler city government and is an integral part of the Arizona Judicial System. The court serves the community by administering justice in a fair, impartial, and efficient manner.

The court handles all criminal and traffic violations, ensures compliance with court orders, serves as juvenile hearing officers, facilitates mediation for neighborhood disputes, and issues Harassment Injunctions and Orders of Protection.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. This role involves performing essential and varied legal clerical tasks within the Municipal Court system. The ideal candidate will possess significant public contact experience, a keen attention to detail, and accuracy in their work. Experience in processing, filing, and reporting case file information is essential.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED; and
• Two years of customer service experience with frequent public contact, including one year of court-related experience involving cash handling; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the necessary knowledge and skills for the role.

Desired Qualifications:

• Familiarity with case disposition reporting related to the Arizona Department of Public Safety and/or Motor Vehicle Department (or similar agency).
• Experience working directly with the public in a financial institution setting.
• Previous court experience.
• Bilingual in Spanish.

This position is full-time and subject to a six-month probationary period. A register of qualified candidates will remain active for four months should additional positions become available. All new hires will be required to undergo fingerprinting with successful results as a condition of continued employment.
