Hours for this role are Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM.
Role Responsibilities
Assist in the creation of financial statements, ensuring complete, accurate, and timely completion of financial and accounting records for the Credit Union.
Engage in a variety of advanced accounting tasks with minimal oversight. Provide support to all accounting roles by maintaining a comprehensive understanding of all major functions.Key Functions & Duties
Demonstrate the core values of CAMPUS, while aligning with our strategic priorities for members, employees, and the community. Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
Prepare financial, statistical, and accounting documentation for the Credit Union.
Specific Duties Include:
Posting journal entries, assisting in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, and reconciling general ledger accounts.
Work autonomously and support other accounting personnel with their daily tasks.
Assist auditors/examiners during year-end and comprehensive audits.
Ensure the department adheres to all deadlines related to settlement activities, with minimal errors, and no errors that could lead to a loss for the Credit Union.
Keep senior accounting staff informed about key operational issues impacting the department.Maintain fixed asset modules and assist Accounting Clerks/AP with expense classifications.
Develop and enhance knowledge of current (and future) software applications within the accounting department.
Participate in semi-annual Service Center audits offsite.
Post Freddie Mac default reporting according to Freddie Mac deadlines, remit Freddie Mac Funds within established timelines, and balance/reconcile all Freddie Mac custodial accounts within set guidelines.
Perform additional duties as assigned.Adhere to and comply with all governmental regulations and policies.
Experience
0-2 years of relevant experience.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business required OR
A combination of education and experience that provides the necessary skills and knowledge to satisfactorily perform the essential job functions may be substituted.
Additional SkillsAnalyze and identify key information from evolving processes and applications.
Attend conferences and workshops to enhance knowledge and refresh skills pertinent to the job.
Exhibit courtesy, tact, and diplomacy.
Knowledge of Monarch is a plus.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and financial systems, with an ability to quickly learn additional systems.
