Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Technician with security clearance to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, programming, testing, and inspecting fire alarm systems, as well as providing technical support to customers.
About the Position
- Service, program, test, and inspect fire alarm systems to ensure they are functional and operational.
- Diagnose causes of problems or failures in systems to identify equipment and systems repair needs.
- Replace system components, such as panels, audible/visual alarms, etc., as assigned.
- Provide technical support to customers, including remote phone diagnosis and troubleshooting of signal issues related to formats and receivers.
- Interact professionally with customers and coordinate with managers and dispatchers to complete service and work orders efficiently.
- Inform dispatchers and managers of the status of service to take appropriate action.
- Perform fire alarm inspections and maintain assigned vehicles, tools, and equipment.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 4+ years of direct fire alarm industry work experience across multiple fire alarm system manufacturers.
- Valid Driver License required.
- FDNY S78 Certificate of Fitness and FDNY S98 Certificate of Fitness required.
- NYC SST Card preferred.
- NICET II Certification and manufacturer certifications (e.g., Siemens, Notifier, Honeywell, Bosch) preferred.
