Position: Electronic Test Design Engineer
Location: Irvine, CA
Role Overview:

The Electronic Test Design Engineer will be responsible for the comprehensive design and integration of both hardware and software components. This includes the creation of circuit designs and the development of test programs tailored for specific boards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with team members to assemble, test, and validate various testing systems and programs.
  • Design, configure, and manufacture tailored Automated Test Equipment (ATE) systems and develop Test Program Sets (TPS).
  • Conduct circuit analysis on complex systems, subsystems, Line Replaceable Units (LRUs), and Shop Replaceable Units (SRUs) to determine necessary resources for test system development.
  • Define all hardware and software requirements for test systems, including Interface Test Adapters (ITAs), cables, and harnesses, utilizing Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) items when feasible.
  • Select and procure necessary materials and components.
  • Create essential documentation, including test procedures, schematics, wiring diagrams, specifications, mechanical drawings, and work orders.
  • Engage in Preliminary Design Reviews (PDRs), Critical Design Reviews (CDRs), and Acceptance Test Procedures with project teams and stakeholders.
  • Perform hands-on generation of test code, hardware/software debugging, integration, fault isolation, and diagnostics.
  • Design both analog and digital circuits.
  • Develop Test Program Sets for microprocessor-based circuits and products adhering to MIL-STD-1553/MIL-STD-1760 standards.
  • Engage in Windows-based test software development utilizing design tools such as ATLAS, ATEasy, LabView, Visual Basic, Visual C++, and LabWindows.
  • Lead a cross-functional engineering team, providing mentorship and guidance to achieve technical and design objectives.
  • Demonstrate prior experience in project management.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of analog and digital electronic circuits.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in circuit design using schematic capture tools such as Altium, Orcad, or Cadence.
  • Proficiency with standard testing instruments and equipment, including Digital Multimeters (DMMs), oscilloscopes, power supplies, function generators, and data acquisition systems.
  • At least 3 years of experience in Windows-based test software development using design tools such as ATLAS, ATEasy, LabView, Visual Basic, Visual C++, and LabWindows.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Word).
