Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process both fixed and unfixed tissue specimens along with cytology samples utilizing various histological techniques, including frozen sectioning and immunohistochemistry.
- Instruct and mentor laboratory personnel in histological methods.
- Oversee and train new hires or students, including responsibilities related to hiring and performance evaluations.
- Prepare microscopic slides for diagnostic evaluation, including embedding, microtomy, and staining procedures.
- Implement special staining methods for tissue sections to identify microorganisms and cellular components for complex diagnostic purposes.
- Contribute to the strategic development of regulatory approvals related to histopathology.
- Evaluate the quality of slide preparations and troubleshoot as necessary.
- Collaborate with the laboratory director to validate technical procedures prior to application on clinical or research samples.
Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in a relevant scientific field or higher.
- ASCP certification (HT or HTL) or eligibility to obtain certification.
- Preferred experience in a similar role, though not mandatory.
