Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Physicist to join our radiation oncology team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate delivery of radiation treatment prescriptions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform calculations of dose distributions and design treatment aids/devices to ensure accurate treatment delivery.
  • Assist in planning resource allocation, including equipment usage, selection, and replacement, as well as staffing requirements and budget preparation.
  • Perform calibration of treatment machines and maintain information necessary for their use.
  • Oversee performance levels of imaging equipment used in radiation oncology.
  • Develop and maintain a quality assurance program for treatment modalities, localization procedures, and computational equipment and programs.
  • Collaborate with the Radiation Safety Officer to comply with regulating and certifying agencies.
  • Participate in the institutional Radiation Safety Committee and other committees as needed.
  • Consult with Radiation Oncologists on physical and radiobiological aspects of patient treatments and treatment plan development.
Requirements
  • Master of Science or Doctoral degree in Medical Physics, Radiological Physics, Physics, or related discipline.
  • Board certified or board eligible by The American Board of Radiology or The American Board of Medical Physics.
  • Minimum two years of experience performing therapeutic radiation physics in a clinical setting.
  • Preferred experience with treatment platforms and systems, including Epic electronic medical record.
