About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse 2 to join our Surgical Progressive Care Unit team at Johns Hopkins Health System. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to a collaborative and patient-centered work environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to adult surgical patients on Zayed 11 West, including assessing patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and evaluating patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and ensure seamless transitions between departments.
  • Participate in unit-based committees to drive quality improvement initiatives and enhance patient care.
  • Precept new graduate nurses during their residency and provide guidance and support to ensure successful transition to independent practice.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of nursing observations and care, including vital signs, medication administration, and patient education.
  • Respond to patient inquiries, complaints, and routine service requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • May provide discharge instructions to patients or their families in the absence of a higher-level nursing professional.
  • Attend in-service training and continuing education programs to stay current with best practices and evidence-based care.
Requirements
  • Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN or MSN preferred.
  • At least one year of RN experience required.
  • Active Maryland Board of Nursing (MBON) or Compact State Registered Nursing license required.
  • CPR/BLS certification required: AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network accepted.
  • Tuition reimbursement available for BSN/MSN program completion within five years of hire.
