Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to adult surgical patients on Zayed 11 West, including assessing patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and evaluating patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and ensure seamless transitions between departments.
- Participate in unit-based committees to drive quality improvement initiatives and enhance patient care.
- Precept new graduate nurses during their residency and provide guidance and support to ensure successful transition to independent practice.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of nursing observations and care, including vital signs, medication administration, and patient education.
- Respond to patient inquiries, complaints, and routine service requests in a timely and professional manner.
- May provide discharge instructions to patients or their families in the absence of a higher-level nursing professional.
- Attend in-service training and continuing education programs to stay current with best practices and evidence-based care.
- Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN or MSN preferred.
- At least one year of RN experience required.
- Active Maryland Board of Nursing (MBON) or Compact State Registered Nursing license required.
- CPR/BLS certification required: AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network accepted.
