Senior Data Scientist, Minerva

As a Senior Data Scientist at Amazon, you will be part of the Minerva team, a cross-functional science, analytics, and ML org of highly experienced scientists, BI/data engineers, and software engineers. We build science-based systems for marketing and content-discovery for indie authors, fraud/abuse, and content risk for our publishing businesses. We also use science to optimize manufacturing, fulfillment, and quality processes.
Key Responsibilities
Connect with world leaders in your field working on similar problems
Work with massive-scale data and provide analytic leadership to scientists, product managers, engineers using these data
Leverage your knowledge in machine learning, advanced analytics, metrics, and others, to analyze and translate the data into meaningful insights
Collaborate closely with business and operations teams, scientists, and engineers
Have end-to-end ownership of operational and technical aspects of the insights you are building for the business, and play an integral role in strategic decision-making

Requirements
4+ years of data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, Matlab, etc.) experience
3+ years of data scientist or similar role involving data extraction, analysis, statistical modeling and communication experience
Bachelor's degree
Preferred qualifications include experience managing data pipelines, experience as a leader and mentor on a data science team, and a Master's degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, data science, business analytics, economics, finance, engineering, or computer science
