Job Responsibilities:

We are in search of a versatile and skilled Food Service Worker to support our operations in educational settings. This position encompasses various duties, including meal preparation, serving, and dishwashing. The successful candidate will enjoy a schedule that aligns with school hours, promoting a healthy work-life balance.

Key Duties:
  • Meal Preparation & Service: Prepare and serve meals in accordance with established recipes, portion control guidelines, and food safety protocols. Maintain cleanliness and organization in all food service areas.
  • Customer Engagement: Ensure a positive experience for students, staff, and visitors by greeting them professionally. Respond to inquiries regarding menu items, pricing, and payment methods.
  • Cash Handling: Accurately manage the collection of payments for food products and meal plans.
  • Inventory Management: Assist with the receipt, storage, and rotation of food supplies following established procedures. Support inventory control efforts.
  • Operational Collaboration: Work alongside the kitchen team to ensure efficient operations and timely service while adhering to school district policies.
  • Food Line Setup: Organize and maintain the food service line, including plates, utensils, food, and beverages.
  • Dishwashing Duties: Carry out dishwashing responsibilities as required.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior experience in food service or customer service roles is advantageous.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Strong customer service and communication abilities.
  • Capacity to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Physical endurance to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks.
  • Basic math skills and experience in handling cash accurately are essential. Familiarity with cash registers is a plus.
Working Environment:

The Food Service Worker will primarily operate in a school cafeteria setting, with the flexibility to work early mornings and, occasionally, evenings or weekends for special events. The role involves exposure to hot temperatures, steam, and cleaning agents.

Compensation:

$15.80 per hour
