Job Description

South Buffalo Charter School is seeking a reliable and customer-focused individual to serve as a Cafeteria Monitor. This role involves supervising students during lunch and recess periods, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for students to eat and play.

As a Cafeteria Monitor, you will be responsible for circulating the cafeteria to ensure students are behaving appropriately, encouraging them to wait in line, focus on eating, and pick up their trash. You may also refer behavior problems to teachers or administration.

Maintaining the cafeteria is also a key aspect of this role, including cleaning and sanitizing tables, floors, and chairs, and replenishing utensils, napkins, and condiments. You may also assist with spills and recycling.

Additional responsibilities include helping students with lunch needs, such as opening packages and milk cartons, cutting food, and accompanying them to the bathroom or nurse. You may also organize group games and activities.

Requirements for this role include a high school diploma or equivalent, reliable transportation, and excellent customer service skills. Experience working with children is preferred.
