Leidos is seeking a Cryptographic Security Specialist to play a crucial role in supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in the management and enhancement of secure communication networks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to the organization's cryptographic security policies and promote compliance among users.
  • Configure and install cryptographic hardware, promptly addressing issues to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Maintain the operational integrity of cryptographic devices, ensuring minimal downtime during maintenance activities.
  • Safeguard and manage keying materials and other cryptographic resources, updating them as per established schedules.
  • Document and monitor all cryptographic devices and materials across various accounts and systems.
  • Exhibit accountability for all cryptographic assets during annual evaluations.
  • Provide training on cryptographic security practices to team members and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with clients, team members, and users to uphold security standards and deployment timelines.
  • Support the organization in technical matters related to its overarching mission.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree with 2-4 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with less than 2 years of relevant experience. Additional experience may substitute for formal education.
  • Familiarity with contemporary cryptographic devices and principles.
  • Ability to implement processes and maintain necessary documentation.
  • Basic knowledge of network transport devices associated with encryption systems (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls).
  • Understanding of information security practices and devices.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service abilities.
  • Capacity to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative team environment.
  • Adaptability to evolving situations.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in designing and securing networks, including the management of LAN/WAN infrastructures and security components.
  • Proficiency in resolving complex engineering challenges and delivering innovative solutions.
  • Relevant IT certifications such as A+, CCNA, CCNP, Security+, CISSP, etc.
