Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced faculty member to join our team as a Medical Insurance Coder Biller. The successful candidate will provide administrative leadership for the medical coder biller program and deliver high-quality instruction. This is a full-time faculty position that requires a commitment to diversity, excellence, student engagement, and success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the medical coder biller program, ensuring its continued growth and success.
  • Develop and implement curriculum that meets the needs of our students and the healthcare industry.
  • Teach medical coding and billing courses, utilizing a variety of instructional methods and technologies.
  • Assist with program evaluation, licensure, and accreditation processes.
  • Represent the program and college at external events and meetings.
  • Collaborate with department chairs and other faculty members to achieve program goals and objectives.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clinical affiliates and other external partners.
  • Participate in student recruitment, advisement, and retention efforts.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures that support the program and college.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Five years of experience in medical coding and billing, with at least three years of teaching experience.
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) and Certified Professional Coder-Instructor (CPC-I) credentials.
  • Experience with curriculum development, assessment, and evaluation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and contribute to a positive and inclusive campus culture.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a health-related field.
  • Experience with online teaching and learning platforms.
  • Knowledge of competency-based education and assessment.
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment.
