Medical Equipment Specialist

Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated Customer Service Technician to join our team. In this position, you will be responsible for delivering, setting up, and maintaining medical equipment, oxygen, and supplies, as well as providing customer service to patients and referral sources.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities- Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding the use of personnel protective safety equipment.
- Assist with updating respiratory grids.
- Be available for on-call assignments as needed.
- Complete all necessary delivery forms and paperwork, including invoices, work orders, manifests, and logs.
- Coordinate verification of Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance coverage information.
- Deliver, set up, and maintain equipment at the delivery address using company vehicles.
- Develop and maintain a working knowledge of current products and services offered by the company and all applicable governmental regulations.
- Educate patients and/or caregivers on the safe use and maintenance of delivered items.
- Maintain assigned company vehicles in a clean and safe working condition.
- Maintain referral logs.
- Manage all aspects of intake, including answering phones, receiving faxes, collecting patient and referral source information, data input into IMBS, printing tickets, assembling charts, and processing paperwork.
- Monitor office supplies.
- Observe additional needs that patients may have and report them during morning meetings.
- Prepare CMNs/SOPs for Sales Reps and document on tracking logs.
- Prepare complete and accurate files for the Billing Department.
- Prepare tickets for daily routes.
- Provide service for walk-in patients.
- Report equipment hazards and/or product incidents as required.
- Work with location personnel to coordinate deliveries.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Employment is contingent on a background investigation, drug screen (when applicable), and a valid driver's license in the state of residence with a clean driving record (when applicable).
- Required Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Preferred Education and/or Experience: Experience with medical equipment, one year of related work experience, and medical terminology.
- Skills and Competencies: Accurately perform simple mathematical calculations, effectively communicate in English, interpret a variety of communications, maintain confidentiality, and work independently and as part of a team.
