Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Float Pool team at Roane Medical Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse.

Responsibilities
  • Initiate admission databases and histories, and collaborate with RNs to implement patient and family teaching and care needs.
  • Practice in compliance with all regulatory standards and adhere to hospital policies and procedures.
  • Perform and prioritize nursing care tasks, accurately following the nursing plan of care and pertinent medical orders.
  • Observe and report nursing interventions and patient responses, documenting in a timely and concise manner.
  • Recognize, respond, and report changes in patient conditions to RN Team Leaders.
  • Participate in unit-specific quality assurance activities and patient care conferences as requested.
  • Demonstrate principles of infection control and collaborate with the infection control nurse to ensure patient, visitor, and personnel safety.
  • Assist in orienting new employees or students to unit routines.
  • Administer IV venipuncture and parenteral fluids per established hospital protocol.
  • Perform specific advanced patient care treatments as approved to perform per hospital protocol.
Requirements
  • Currently licensed by the Tennessee Board of Nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
  • No prior experience as a LPN/LVN is needed.
