Job Summary

The Pharmacist - Inpatient (PT- 0.6 FTE) role is a critical position at Bozeman Health, requiring a highly skilled and dedicated professional to provide high-quality pharmaceutical services to patients. As a key member of the healthcare team, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective use of medications, while also contributing to the development and implementation of clinical pharmacy protocols and policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform clinical review and verification of provider orders, ensuring accuracy and appropriateness of medication therapy.
  • Develop and maintain clinical pharmacy protocols and policies, in collaboration with the pharmacy leadership team and other healthcare professionals.
  • Provide drug information and education to healthcare providers, nurses, and other ancillary personnel, promoting strong interdisciplinary communication and collaboration.
  • Participate in antimicrobial stewardship initiatives, working to optimize the use of antibiotics and other antimicrobial agents.
  • Oversee inpatient pharmacy activities, including medication order processing and workflow management, to ensure timely and efficient medication services.
  • Collaborate with the pharmacy leadership team to develop and implement quality improvement initiatives, aimed at enhancing patient safety and outcomes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science or Doctorate of Pharmacy degree.
  • Montana licensure (Pharmacist) or eligibility to obtain licensure upon hire.
  • American Heart Association BLS certification required within one year of hire.
  • American Heart Association ACLS certification required within one year of hire.
  • PGY1 residency or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a hospital or healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of electronic health records and pharmacy software systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with healthcare providers, nurses, and other ancillary personnel.
  • Ability to analyze and prioritize work, meeting multiple deadlines and competing demands.
