Job Title: Lactation Consultant

The Lactation Consultant is a vital member of our team at UTMB Health, responsible for providing expert support to mothers and their infants in the postpartum period. This role requires a strong foundation in nursing and lactation consulting, with a focus on promoting a breastfeeding-friendly environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and plan lactation support and education for clients
  • Develop and implement interventions to promote successful breastfeeding
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of lactation support and education
  • Promote a breastfeeding-friendly environment
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing
  • Three years' clinical experience
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Valid state of Texas Professional Nursing (RN) license
  • Certified International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) certification
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
