Job Title: Lactation Consultant

UTMB Health is seeking a skilled Lactation Consultant to join our team. As a Lactation Consultant, you will provide support for the mother-infant breastfeeding dyad, assessing, planning, and evaluating lactation support and education for clients in the postpartum period.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide lactation support and education to clients in the postpartum period
  • Assess and evaluate lactation support and education needs
  • Develop and implement lactation support and education plans
  • Promote a breastfeeding-friendly environment
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing
  • Three years' clinical experience
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Valid state of Texas Professional Nursing (RN) license
  • Certified International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) certification
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
