Core Responsibilities:
The primary focus of this role is to develop and uphold the company's accounting policies and procedures related to regulatory and financial reporting. This position entails researching intricate accounting transactions to ensure adherence to accounting standards and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will engage with various stakeholders across the organization.
Key Duties:
- Collaborate with fellow Accounting Policy professionals to conduct and document technical research, providing interpretive guidance on both existing and emerging regulatory frameworks and accounting standards.
- Review new products and complex transactions to ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory reporting standards.
- Maintain an advanced understanding of GAAP and regulatory requirements, leading in-house training sessions to share knowledge.
- 3-5 years of experience with a proven track record in accounting.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Ability to analyze and interpret complex transactions.
- Extensive knowledge of US regulatory reporting requirements in the banking and financial services sector.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across various levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing accounting standards across teams.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage with diverse audiences.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- CPA or advanced degree in Accounting or MBA.
- Experience in Regulatory and Accounting Policy within a large financial institution.
