Job Summary

As a Server at Golden Corral, you will be responsible for providing exceptional dining experiences to our guests. This includes serving food and beverages in a timely and friendly manner, while also being attentive to their needs. You will also be responsible for practicing responsible alcohol service in accordance with state and local laws and Golden Corral's alcohol policy.

Responsibilities
  • Menu Knowledge: Possess proficient knowledge of the menu to explain our offerings to guests, inform them of current food promotions and specials, and answer any questions.
  • Order Taking: Accurately write food and beverage orders on guest tickets and enter orders into the POS system quickly and prior to serving, using appropriate abbreviations and charges.
  • Food and Beverage Service: Serve food and beverages to guests in a timely manner, including retrieving food orders from the kitchen and transporting them to guests in the servers' section, as well as for any other section in the restaurant.
  • Guest Interaction: Assess guest demeanor and identify when behavior should be called to the attention of a manager. Even in other team members' sections.
  • Alcohol Service: Follow alcohol awareness procedures for identifying age, preventing intoxication, and dealing with intoxicated guests, and adhere to all company-related alcohol policies.
  • Payment and Transactions: Collect payment (credit cards, cash) for drinks and/or food served, following company-established accounting procedures for all transactions.
  • Financial Accuracy: Ensure all financial transactions are correct and maintain accuracy and coin for making change.
  • Credit Card Operations: Operate credit card machines correctly.
  • Table Maintenance: Maintain table appearance by pre-bussing, checking drink levels, removing clutter, and providing adequate napkins, etc.
  • Station Cleanliness: Keep station clean, set up and take down station tables appropriately.
  • Shift Change and Opening/Closing Duties: Perform shift change and/or opening or closing duties.
  • Company Policies: Adhere to all company safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
  • Team Collaboration: Assist other team members as needed or when business needs dictate.
  • Company Image: Portray a favorable image of Golden Corral at all times.
  • Work Area Maintenance: Ensure that work areas are clean and that equipment, tools, and supplies are properly stored.
