Job Responsibilities

As a Line Locator, you will:

  • Work under the guidance of your supervisor to conduct visual inspections of designated construction zones.
  • Read and interpret utility maps to identify the presence of underground utilities.
  • Utilize specialized electronic equipment to accurately locate and safeguard utilities from potential damage.

Typical utilities include gas, electric, water, cable, sewer, and more.

Requirements
  • Willingness to undergo random drug testing in accordance with DOT regulations.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various conditions.
  • Availability for limited weekend hours, primarily for on-call duties and increased workloads.
  • Successful completion of the company's training program, including passing relevant written and field assessments.
  • Develop a foundational understanding of state and local damage prevention regulations.
  • Learn and implement safety measures related to vehicle operation and field activities.
