Aitech Defense Systems is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for the design, documentation, and production support of electro-mechanical components and systems for military and aerospace applications.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and develop ruggedized embedded computer systems for military and aerospace applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical designs.
- Support design reviews and provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including 2D and 3D models, drawings, and specifications.
- Work closely with manufacturing and quality assurance teams to ensure smooth production and delivery of products.
- Participate in face-to-face customer discussions and prepare presentations to communicate project status and technical information.
- Minimum of BS + 4-6 years, MS + 2-4 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on electronic enclosures design and analysis.
- Expertise in SolidWorks 3D modeling software and FEA structural and thermal analysis.
- Knowledge of material properties and finishes applicable to the design of metal enclosures and electronic packaging components.
- Working knowledge of ASME Y14.100 and ASME Y14.5M-1994 practices modeling and 2D prints.
- Hands-on experience with creating 2-D working drawings from a 3-D model, including appropriate notes.
- Working knowledge of the creation and control of Technical Data Packages (TDPs) per DOD-D-1000 and MIL-STD-100.
- Working knowledge of military, ANSI/ASME, and IPC specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Proven ability to manage multiple major/complex projects and meet deadlines.
- Successful candidate will have and be proficient with Microsoft Office tools.
- Experience in DFA and DFM.
- Experience in sheet metal, machining, metal finishing, and metal shop practices.
- Well-versed in engineering mechanics, with a focus on dynamics.
