Key Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, direct, and evaluate the care of patients in a hospital facility setting
- Prepare work performance plans and coordinate patient care and support activities to ensure smooth hospital operation for admissions, discharges, and transfers
- Collaborate with leadership to assure compliance with Joint Commission, Centers of Medicare and Medicaid (CMS), and other regulatory standards
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve patient care and outcomes
- Provide guidance and support to nursing staff to ensure high-quality patient care
- Graduate or higher level degree in nursing from an accredited professional nursing educational program
- Current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States
- At least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service performing the following type of work and/or tasks
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment and to make decisions quickly and effectively. The Lead Nurse must be able to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
