Job Title: Veterinary Technician Instructor

At Pima Medical Institute, we are seeking a highly qualified Veterinary Technician Instructor to join our team. As a key member of our faculty, you will be responsible for instructing and implementing the Veterinary Assistant program, ensuring students receive a comprehensive education in accordance with curriculum standards and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and evaluate daily lesson plans to meet student needs and curriculum objectives.
  • Plan instruction to achieve specific learning outcomes, incorporating scheduled activities and materials.
  • Monitor student attendance and coordinate with the Associate Director when absences occur.
  • Maintain accurate student attendance records and prepare weekly reports for the office management department.
  • Review student success rates and implement strategies to reduce withdrawals, ensuring an 80% student success rate for all classes taught.
  • Evaluate student performance and make necessary provisions to meet learning needs.
  • Maintain student grades and prepare final grades at the end of each module.
  • Coordinate guest speakers, community service field trips, and visits to clinics and medical offices.
  • Prepare lectures and practical demonstrations for students.
  • Assist students with the Veterinary Assistant program curriculum.
  • May assist with inventory and ordering of supplies and equipment.
  • May coordinate externships for Veterinary Assistant students.
  • Monitor students in the classroom and ensure safety precautions are followed.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting body recognized by the USDE.
  • Must graduate with a degree certifying Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.
  • Licensed Veterinarian in the state where the campus is located.
  • Three years of experience as a DVM in a clinic, hospital, or shelter environment.
  • Must hold a current license, certification, or other designation as required by local, state, or federal laws.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer skills with experience in basic word processing and spreadsheet documents.
  • Experience with visual computer presentation preferred.
