Job Title: Systems Administrator

Connection is seeking a skilled Systems Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of our systems, ensuring the smooth operation of our network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and maintain network servers, devices, and communication equipment, including troubleshooting and resolving known issues.
  • Provide timely support for client and server applications, hardware, and equipment, including developing and maintaining client and server scripts.
  • Manage IP-based phone systems and troubleshoot and maintain switches.
  • Serve as the primary contact for all data processing or network communication problems, researching and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Perform network server maintenance, including user setup, password protection, backups, restores, user security, trustee assignments, and system broadcasts.
  • Track and maintain outstanding network device and communication issues, researching and reporting unresolved issues with network software and hardware vendors.
  • Recommend and implement software patches and upgrades to client workstations and server applications, as well as recommend client and server applications and hardware that best meet the needs of the organization.
  • Provide highly responsive support to users, diagnosing software, hardware, and peripheral device problems through recognition, research, isolation, and resolution steps.
  • Maintain knowledge of appropriate technology through research, training, and professional publications.

Requirements:

  • A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized certification or licensing program.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of technical principles, theories, and concepts of Microsoft SUS, Microsoft 365, Windows Server Operating Systems, SAN, AIX, Citrix, Exchange management, VMWare, Firewall, Antivirus, Wi-Fi, and Windows client operating systems.
  • Ability to recognize and troubleshoot client and server applications, hardware, communications, and telephone equipment problems.
