Service Technician for Rental Equipment

7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday (some Saturdays & O.T. when necessary).

Service Overview

As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for conducting maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on customer-owned or rental lift trucks, forklifts, and various construction machinery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver outstanding service by performing maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on construction and lift truck machinery.
  • Evaluate whether equipment requires transportation to the workshop for further repairs.
  • Build and maintain a service-oriented relationship with clients.
  • Plan and implement repairs on a variety of rental equipment.
  • Ensure excellent customer service is provided to all clients.
  • Complete service reports and all necessary documentation before and after repairs.
  • Perform additional related tasks as assigned.
  • Stay updated with industry standards and practices.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a formal technical training program is preferred, or a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience is required.
  • Experience with electric and diesel engines, hydraulic systems, fuel systems, drivetrain, and brake systems is essential, along with strong troubleshooting abilities.
  • Automotive and Industrial Maintenance Technicians are encouraged to apply.
  • Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook is required; knowledge of specific software is a plus.
  • Must be proactive, team-oriented, and adaptable to change.
  • Ability to compose professional business communications is necessary.
  • Self-motivated, well-organized, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adherence to safety regulations and use of appropriate safety gear is mandatory.
  • Excellent customer service skills are essential.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 100 lbs, bend, twist, and climb is required.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is necessary.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

This role involves working in both field and shop environments, as well as at customer job sites. The position requires frequent lifting, bending, and carrying of weights up to 100 lbs. Appropriate safety equipment must be worn as per the situation. The work environment may have moderate to high noise levels. Flexibility in working hours and schedules is essential, along with travel between locations.
