POSITION SUMMARY:

The Entry-Level Credit Analyst conducts fundamental credit evaluations on corporate bond issuers, including financial statement assessments, industry analysis, and risk identification. The analyst will support senior analysts in gathering research materials, developing financial models, performing relative value assessments, and creating presentations. Over time, the analyst will be tasked with covering 50-60 issuers across two or three industry sectors and making buy and sell recommendations to the portfolio management team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Track assigned credits for any signs of credit deterioration and generate investment ideas.
  • Conduct security evaluations on fixed income credits.
  • Maintain expertise in the assigned industry sector and formulate relative value opinions.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with investor contacts, including sell-side traders, analysts, issuer representatives, and clients.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or business; progress towards a CFA designation is advantageous.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in corporate security credit analysis, preferably with an investment management firm demonstrating financial market knowledge.
  • Training in credit analysis, a foundational understanding of accounting, and experience in financial statement analysis.
  • Strong quantitative skills, with proficiency in SQL being a plus.
  • Familiarity with analytical platforms such as Perform, Bloomberg, or similar, including Excel API.
  • Understanding of macroeconomic principles and their impact on assigned industries and companies, as well as knowledge of debt and equity capital markets.
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently.
Salary Range: $76,000 - $105,000

The initial salary offer will depend on the applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity, and alignment with market data. This position is also eligible for participation in a company incentive plan.
