Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team and provide detailed proposals for our clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing customer RFQs, organizing proposal preparation, and ensuring compliance with standard forms and methods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proposal Development: Review customer RFQs to understand their intent, requirements, details, timing, and scope. Ensure that proposals are presented in a manner that meets the customer's needs.
  • Site Review: Conduct site visits to review job conditions and gather information for proposal development.
  • Take-Offs and Estimation: Create detailed take-offs for equipment and ancillary devices, and estimate costs for purchased equipment and fabricated items.
  • Subcontractor Management: Contact subcontractors for bids on scope of supply not facilitated by KCI, Incorporated, and prepare bid packs for submission.
  • Compliance and Review: Continuously review customer general specifications and standards to ensure compliance, and review subcontractor proposals for content, price, and clarifications.
  • Quote Preparation: Assist in preparing final quotes and documents for submission to customers, ensuring detail and clarity.
  • Project Planning: Establish a plan for timing and completion of the SOW, and review quotes with the Estimating Manager and Sales team.
  • Collaboration: Work with engineering and operations teams as necessary to complete quotes, and provide critical as-sold information, job kickoff, and setup for job budget.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned, including providing job field orders and/or change order estimates as required.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of directly related experience in industrial construction, mechanical engineering, or a related industrial discipline, preferably in the automotive or industrial fiberglass manufacturing industry.
  • Associates Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering preferred (or combination of equivalent work/education experience)
  • AutoCAD proficiency for reading, plotting, and dimensioning.
  • Proficient with MS Word and Project, with advanced proficiency in Excel required.
  • Ability to travel, including overnight stays, for bid meetings and site reviews.
  • Detail-oriented and organizational skills are essential for success in this role.
