Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Peace Officer to join our team at the City of Chula Vista, CA. As a Peace Officer, you will play a critical role in maintaining public safety and enforcing laws and regulations in our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prevent and investigate crimes, and enforce laws and regulations
  • Participate in and conduct criminal investigations
  • Provide assistance to special crime prevention and law enforcement programs
  • Perform technical and administrative tasks in support of law enforcement services
Requirements
  • Must be at least 20 years old at time of application and 21 years old at time of appointment
  • Must have a valid California driver's license at time of appointment
  • Must meet citizenship requirements as defined under California Government Code Sections 1031(a) and 1031(e)
  • Must have a high school diploma, GED, or two-year or four-year degree from an accredited college or university
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience as a full-time paid sworn Peace Officer (or equivalent) with a California city Police, county Sheriff, or state law enforcement agency
  • California POST certificate
  • Ability to write in a clear and concise manner, prepare reports using a computer, and communicate effectively with co-workers and the public
