Position Overview

We are a leading logistics firm focused on temperature-sensitive transportation solutions, particularly in the reefer freight sector. Our fleet includes advanced Peterbilt 579 Ultralofts, designed to provide a comfortable and secure driving experience. Core Responsibilities:

  • Safe Transport: Operate assigned Peterbilt 579 Ultralofts to deliver reefer freight, primarily pork, ensuring adherence to all safety protocols and company standards.
  • Vehicle Management: Oversee and maintain your assigned truck, which features automatic transmission, APUs, refrigerators, and power inverters. Ensure the vehicle is in optimal condition and report any maintenance needs promptly.
  • Client Interaction: Deliver exceptional service by ensuring timely and precise freight delivery. Proactively address any challenges or delays and maintain clear communication with dispatch and clients.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Follow all federal and state regulations related to transportation and reefer equipment. Keep accurate logs and documentation as required.
  • Professional Representation: Uphold the company’s reputation by demonstrating professionalism and integrity while on the road. Build positive relationships with clients, dispatch, and fellow drivers.

Qualifications:

  • CDL-A License: Must possess a valid CDL-A license with a clean driving history.
  • Experience: Previous experience with reefer freight is preferred. Familiarity with operating reefer equipment and managing temperature control is essential.
  • Physical Capability: Must be physically fit to perform the duties of the role, including extended periods of driving and handling freight.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to be on the road for extended periods, with the flexibility to accommodate various routes and schedules.
  • Safety Focused: A strong commitment to safety and adherence to all transportation regulations and company policies.
  • Customer Service Skills: Excellent communication abilities and a commitment to delivering high-quality customer service.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Pay Structure: $0.62 per mile (includes $0.10 per mile per diem)
  • Home Time: 2 weeks on the road, with one day at home for each week worked. Option to extend to 3 weeks.
  • Vacation Policy: 1 week in the first year, increasing to 2 weeks in the second year.
  • Pet Policy: Dogs up to 60 lbs permitted; $75 a week, capped at $750.
  • Rider Policy: Must be at least 6 years old; $16 a month.
