Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain an active clinical pharmacy service to support patient care initiatives
- Provide effective medication and practice-related education and counseling to patients, caregivers, and medical staff
- Collaborate with medical and nursing staff to optimize pharmacotherapeutic aspects of patient care
- Participate in medication/treatment plan development and review to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Dispense and label drugs or devices, select drugs, and review drug utilization
- Participate in institutional initiatives to develop and implement patient care tools to align with departmental and institutional goals
- Knowledge of and compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to align patient care activities with departmental and institutional policies and goals
- Knowledge of FDA health regulations, pharmacology, and legal compliance requirements
- Thorough understanding of dosage administration and measurement, chemical compounds, and medical brands
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BS) degree required
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree preferred
- Registered Pharmacist (RPh) license required
