Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at Independent School District 728. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing prevention, assessment, and remediation services for students who exhibit difficulties in the areas of language, speech, voice, and fluency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Organize and implement a program that addresses local school speech-language goals.
  • Collaborate with school personnel to achieve the goals and objectives of the local education agency.
  • Coordinate speech-language services with student services provided by other school personnel.
  • Maintain accurate records of the speech-language program and prepare periodic reports as required.
  • Adhere to established rules, regulations, laws, and ethical standards.
  • Conduct speech, language, and hearing screenings.
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of students' speech and language functioning, including administering formal and informal assessments, analysis, and interpretation of information to make recommendations regarding the need for speech-language services.
  • Obtain additional diagnostic information from appropriate persons and available records for speech-language purposes.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers in the management of speech-language disorders.
  • Plan and use evidence-based interventions appropriate for individual students and groups of students.
  • Manage facilities, materials, and equipment, including assistive technology, necessary to the delivery of services.
  • Adjust intervention strategies based on student performance.
  • Promote effective interpersonal relations with students.
  • Complete procedural documentation appropriately.
  • Abide by professional code of ethics.
  • Develop appropriate Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) based on students' strengths and needs.
  • Demonstrate awareness of professional performance in due process matters and litigious environments.
  • Provide consultation to parents, teachers, and other appropriate school personnel.
  • Seek assistance from teachers, parents, and others to meet the communication needs of students.
  • Consult and communicate with non-school agencies to enhance services.
  • Make recommendations and referrals for audiological/medical and related services.
Qualifications
  • Masters Degree in Speech Language Pathology.
  • Minnesota Board of Teaching license as Educational Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Completed or will complete during the first year of employment, the Clinical Fellowship Year for Clinical Competency Certification or holds a current Certificate of Clinical Competency.
