Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and implementing a variety of activities, including arts and crafts, games, and outings, to cater to diverse resident interests and abilities.
- Collaborate with the activities director to develop and implement a comprehensive activity program that aligns with Sunrise Senior Living's mission and values.
- Support the recruitment and retention of volunteers to assist with activity programs and events.
- Maintain accurate records of activity participation, volunteer hours, and resident feedback to inform program development and evaluation.
- Work closely with the care team to ensure that activities are tailored to meet the unique needs and abilities of residents with varying levels of cognitive and physical impairment.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in a related field (e.g., recreation therapy, gerontology) preferred.
- Experience working with older adults, preferably in a senior living or healthcare setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, staff, and volunteers.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods, with frequent walking and bending.
