Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CDL-A Van Truckload Driver Instructor to join our team. As an instructor, you will be responsible for coaching, mentoring, and on-boarding new driver associates while they are in training. You will teach and evaluate the skills needed to be successful driver associates, perform hands-on training both in the classroom and in the truck, and cover critical components of training, including safety, hours of service, trip-planning, workflow, tablet, policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coach and mentor new driver associates to ensure their success on the road.
  • Teach and evaluate the skills needed to be successful driver associates.
  • Perform hands-on training both in the classroom and in the truck.
  • Cover critical components of training, including safety, hours of service, trip-planning, workflow, tablet, policies, and procedures.
  • Act as a safety advocate and driver retention ambassador for the organization.
  • Prepare new drivers for a safe and rewarding career with Schneider.
Requirements:
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • DOT physical card.
  • Minimum 12 months of Class A driving experience.
  • Ability to coach and mentor effectively.
  • Live within 25 miles of Indianapolis, IN.
