We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Pathologist to join our team at the University of California, Davis. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for providing expert diagnostic services in mammalian and avian diseases, as well as conducting applied research and teaching duties.
Key Responsibilities- Function as a diagnostic pathologist in the California Animal Health & Food Safety Laboratory System, providing expert diagnostic services in mammalian and avian diseases.
- Conduct applied research, utilizing diagnostic case material to publish results in relevant journals.
- Teach and mentor students, including local residents and graduate students, in the areas of diagnostic pathology and applied research.
- Participate in departmental, school, and university committee work, as well as professional organizations, to advance the field of veterinary pathology.
- DVM or equivalent degree with experience in mammalian and avian diseases.
- Board certification or eligibility for board certification by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists (ACVP) or European College of Veterinary Pathologists (ECVP).
- Demonstrated ability in diagnostic anatomic pathology and applied research.
- Demonstrated experience in diagnostic disciplines, disease investigation, and diagnostic interpretation.
- Advanced degree in veterinary pathology or a related field.
- Knowledge of quality assurance, molecular diagnostics, and bacteriology.
