Key Responsibilities
The Echocardiography Specialist I, under the guidance of the Technical Director of the Echocardiography Laboratory, Medical Director, and Cardiology Practice Manager, is responsible for delivering prompt, courteous, and high-quality transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echocardiography.
This role includes providing ancillary services to support the Echocardiography Laboratory while maintaining accreditation standards. The specialist will travel to various regional sites to perform echocardiograms independently and mentor fellows, students, and entry-level sonographers as needed. Participation in the echocardiography on-call rotation is also required.
Must achieve credentials as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (ARDMS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (CCI) within the first year of employment.
Essential Duties
Deliver high-quality technical diagnostic studies and support services at an expert level. Conduct routine, urgent, and emergent transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echocardiography diagnostics in accordance with established protocols, as evaluated by physician feedback and managerial oversight.
Regularly provide related services as requested, as measured by co-worker feedback and managerial observation. Offer echocardiography services at regional health center sites as necessary, ensuring confidentiality for all patients.
Fulfill compliance responsibilities related to the position, and participate in the on-call schedule for echocardiography, responding within 30 minutes when called.
Collaborate with team members to ensure excellent patient service and serve as a mentor for fellows, students, and entry-level sonographers.
Work closely with schedulers to ensure timely patient access to echocardiography services and respond to physician referrals effectively.
Qualifications
Education:
Graduate of an accredited Cardiac Diagnostic Sonography program is required; a 2-year Associate Degree of Science or Associate of Applied Science is preferred.
Experience:
A minimum of one year of experience as a cardiac sonographer is preferred, including time spent during training.
Licensure/Certification:
Registry eligible for adult Echocardiography by ARDMS is preferred; RCS Certification eligible from CCI is also preferred.

Physical Requirements:
Medium work: exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects. Occasional tasks include crouching, kneeling, lifting, and stooping. Frequent tasks involve typing, dexterity, hearing, pulling, pushing, reaching, and visual acuity.
Working Conditions:
Occasional exposure to fumes and odors. Extensive travel is expected weekly.

Salary is determined by various factors, including qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and market evaluation based on industry standards.
Pay Range:
Minimum: USD $37.49/Hr
Maximum: USD $56.24/Hr
