About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Medical Center. As a key member of our Lung Transplant and Interstitial Lung Disease team, you will provide exceptional patient care and work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and manage patients who have received a lung transplant, including follow-up of post-transplant clinical testing and immunosuppressive management.
  • Provide ongoing discharge teaching and clinical assessment of the post-lung transplant patient population.
  • Work closely with our ILD Medical Director and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients with interstitial lung disease.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and contribute to the development of clinical guidelines and protocols.
  • Collaborate with our social workers, nurses, radiologists, pathologists, and rheumatologists to provide comprehensive care to our patients.
Requirements
  • Minimum of two years of recent experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Minimum of two years of NP experience in Lung Transplantation and Interstitial Lung Disease.
  • Previous pulmonary/interstitial lung disease and lung transplant experience.
  • Knowledge of lung diseases, transplantation, and immunosuppressive therapy.
  • Ability to manage key problems related to transplant, including anemia, rehabilitation for geriatric patients, cardiovascular risk assessment, and infectious disease in the immunocompromised host.
  • Excellent patient education skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and professional conduct.
  • Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Outpatient/Ambulatory Experience in Nurse Practitioner role.
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English, Cantonese or Mandarin additional plus).
